- A Refined Italian Dining Experience at Tosca, DoubleTree by Hilton Kuala Lumpur
At DoubleTree by Hilton Kuala Lumpur, an evening at Tosca brought Italian dining into focus through a refined multi-course authentic experience that felt both thoughtful and approachable. Set by the pool, the atmosphere was relaxed yet polished, shaped by Hilton’s warm and intuitive hospitality. Instead of a formal structure, the evening unfolded naturally, with each course introduced through light storytelling that helped guests better understand the flavours and pairings. The menu drew from Italy’s Veneto region, tracing a journey from the Dolomites to the Adriatic Sea. It began with crisp Northern and Roman-style pizzas that highlighted simple ingredients and careful technique of heritage and craft. The mains were paired with artisanal wines each selected to complement rather than overpower the dishes. Leading the experience was Michael Sator, origin from Jesolo whose background near Venice and training at the Scuola Italiana Pizzaioli grounded the menu in tradition. A highlight of the evening was the interactive Aperitivo Ritual, “Craft Your Own Spritz,” where guests created their own drinks from a range of classic, citrus and floral profiles. It added a social and engaging element to the night. Overall, the experience focused on authenticity, simplicity and connection, showing that good Italian dining is best enjoyed when it’s shared and understood, not overcomplicated. - Ballet Meets Street: Christian Louboutin Expands the Cassia Line for Spring/Summer 2026
More than two decades after first experimenting with ballet-inspired silhouettes, Christian Louboutin is once again placing dance aesthetics at the centre of fashion innovation. While the designer first explored ballet references as early as 1999, the concept fully took the spotlight with the launch of the Cassia line in 2025. Now, for Spring/Summer 2026, the collection evolves with new designs including the brand’s first pointe-inspired shoes for men. The signature Cassia shoe, instantly recognisable by its structured block-toe shape inspired by pointe shoes, returns this season in refreshed interpretations. For spring, the design introduces a practical elastic strap across the instep, reinforcing both comfort and authenticity to its dance roots. A new ballerina flat version further amplifies the aesthetic, translating the elegance of a rehearsal shoe into a wearable everyday silhouette. Among the standout additions is a heeled design topped with a wool legwarmer-inspired upper a playful nod to the ballet studio that merges performance culture with high-fashion street style. The spring collection arrives in classic blush and pastel pink crepe satin, alongside new black nappa leather versions. The Cassia line continues its evolution into summer with three striking new interpretations. A high-heeled mule designed to visually elongate the leg leads the lineup, available in black or laminated silver nappa leather, as well as a seasonal peony-print satin crepe. The floral print also appears on a dramatic ankle boot featuring corset-style side boning, front lacing, and a discreet inner zip balancing bold design with everyday wearability. The boots will be offered in both a sleek single sole and an ultra-high 60mm platform, with timeless options in black and blush satin crepe. Breaking new ground, Christian Louboutin introduces the Cassia silhouette for men for the first time. Reimagined as a lace-up shoe, the design translates ballet elements into a masculine form while maintaining the signature square toe. The reinforced toe structure ensures durability while preserving the distinctive shape, and a lightweight leather outsole keeps the profile exceptionally slim without sacrificing arch support. The Cassia collection was further spotlighted through exclusive runway variations created for a performance showcase. Models appeared in bespoke styles including the Cassia Annmac in bold red, yellow, and purple colourways paired with strass-embellished legwarmers, as well as the Cassiasticina in purple laminated nappa leather. For men, the show introduced the Ruben Annmac—an adaptation of the Ruben shoe featuring a legwarmer detail—alongside a special runway version of the Diopic design in purple laminated nappa leather. By blending ballet heritage with bold silhouettes and performance storytelling, the Cassia collection illustrates how high fashion continues to adapt for the digital era where runway moments, design details and cultural references are crafted not just for the stage, but for screens and social media feeds worldwide.
