The Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club (KLGCC) has appointed Malaysian professional golfer Kelly Tan as its latest Golf Ambassador, highlighting the club's dedication to sporting excellence and nurturing new talent. Kelly becomes part of an esteemed group of ambassadors at KLGCC, showcasing the club's commitment to backing elite athletes who embody the values and standards of one of Malaysia's leading golf establishments.
Besides providing a world-class golfing experience, KLGCC is dedicated to supporting young talent with its facilities and offering development opportunities for aspiring golfers. By involving accomplished athletes like Kelly, the club seeks to inspire the next generation and contribute to the ongoing growth of Malaysian golf.
“Kelly’s journey and achievements on the international stage make her an exceptional role model for young golfers,” said Mr. Adam Calver, General Manager of KLGCC. “We are incredibly proud to welcome her as our ambassador. Her longstanding connection with the club and her passion for representing Malaysia align perfectly with KLGCC’s commitment to developing talent and promoting excellence in the sport.”

Kelly's professional accomplishments feature a career-best world ranking of 140 and three professional wins, including two titles on the Malaysian PGM Tour in 2019 and one on the Epson Tour. She also has the honor of achieving the best Malaysian finish in a major championship tied for 13th place at the 2020 KPMG Women's PGA Championship. Her career highlights also include runner-up finishes at the Dow LPGA Championship in both 2022 and 2023 along with four Top-10 and 19 Top-25 finishes on the LPGA Tour.
A two-time Olympian, Kelly represented Malaysia at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games and the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games, proudly showcasing the nation’s flag on the global stage.

“I started playing here when I was part of the national team at the age of 16,” said Kelly. “One of my fondest memories was being invited to play in the 2010 Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia at KLGCC when I was just 17. After that event, Yayasan Sime Darby awarded me a Star Scholarship to finish high school at IMG Golf Academy in Florida. That opportunity changed my life and set me on the path to becoming an LPGA Tour Professional golfer”.
“My aspiration is to perform consistently at the highest level of professional golf while representing Malaysia with excellence and integrity. Beyond competitive results, I hope to inspire the next generation, contribute to the growth of high-performance golf development, and give back to the community that shaped me.”
She added, “KLGCC’s encouragement empowers me to compete confidently on the global stage, knowing I carry the pride of a club that represents the very best of Malaysian golf. I am truly honored to be associated with KLGCC and remain committed to representing the club with professionalism and excellence wherever I compete.”
Kelly has been associated with KLGCC since her teenage years when she trained there with the national team. Now, taking on the role of Golf Ambassador, KLGCC believes her involvement will enhance the club's international reputation and motivate future generations to strive for excellence in golf.
